Chapter Twenty-Seven
Sandy lay beneath Joan, unmoving and unfeeling. She had gone past the point of no return by giving herself completely to the monster lying on top of her.
Joan had forced her to do things before, but Sandy hadnât needed to be ordered or coaxed this time. No, sheâd touched, caressed, and convinced the monster of her growing attraction to her. Or so, she prayed.
Joan lifted her head but remained on top of Sandyâs body. âAs good as that felt to me, do you really expect me to believe you felt it too?â
For once, Sandy was grateful for the blindfold that hid the disgust she knew swam in her eyes.
Instead of responding, she reached up, took hold of the fiendâs hand, and guided it between their bodies. âYou tell me.â
It took everything Sandy had not to tighten up with the feel of Joanâs fingers touching her.
The fingers were suddenly gone as was Joanâs weight.
A rustling sound could be heard coming from the side of the bed, and then Sandyâs blindfold was removed.
Joan stood there naked, wearing nothing but that horrid mask. She leaned in and unlocked Sandyâs wrist. âYou can take a shower now. If you disappoint me, Iâll return you to the basement with Reba, where you can watch her suffer.â
Sandy kept her expression as passive as possible while crawling to the edge of the mattress. âHow come you hate Reba so much?â
Joanâs head twitched. Wearing that mask, the sudden tic made her appear even more horrific. âWhat do you know about Reba?â
Suddenly terrified once more, Sandyâs mind scrambled around to think of a response. âNothing more than the fact that sheâs trash.â
The crack of Joanâs palm across Sandyâs face sent her toppling over backward. The sting of that blow brought tears to Sandyâs eyes.
Joan was instantly on top of her, a knife to her throat. âI better not ever hear you speak of her in such a way again! Ever!â
Sandy was about to die. She knew it as surely as she knew the eyes staring down at her through the mask holes belonged to someone manic and unreachable.
But she had to try. âIâm sorry, Joan! It was jealousy that made me say that. I shouldnât have said it. I-I had no right. Please donât be angry with me. Not after the beautiful time we just shared together.â
The maniac didnât move for several heartbeats, that knife still pressed to Sandyâs throat. And then, the blade lifted slightly. âYou donât need to be jealous. Especially of her. Now, go shower.â
And just like that, Joan pushed to her feet and left the room, leaving Sandy to wonder what had just happened.
